The Ford NP205 is a transfer case. Transfer cases are an integral part of all four-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive transmissions. They help to direct power to both axles simultaneously.

Identification

The Ford NP205 is a helical gear-driven transfer case. It was used in Ford full-sized trucks from 1971 through the early 1990s. According to NorthWest FabWorks, the NP205 has been regarded in the industry as a strong, reliable transfer case.

Features

The Ford NP205 has a drivers-side left-hand drop. When manufactured, it came with a 31-spline female input. Unlike GMs NP205, which uses an eight-bolt pattern, the Ford NP205 has used a six-bolt circular pattern since its inception.

Outputs

The rear output of Fords NP205 accepts a 1350, 1330 or 1310 u-joint yoke. It will also accept the 1310 CV yoke. Both the rear output and front output are 32-spline shafts. Like the rear output, the front also accepts interchangeable yokes.
