The 1991 Lumina is a car manufactured by Chevrolet. If you are having problems getting your four-door sedan to start, you might want to check the battery and the fuel levels. Both of these components are crucial to starting the car. If the battery is low on a charge, you will be able to charge it through a jump-start. Filling your gas tank could also be a quick fix to your problem.

Instructions

    1

Look over the gas gauge in your Lumina. Make sure you have enough gas to start the car. Add some fuel to the tank if you think your gas gauge might be broken or faulty.

    2

Open the Luminas hood and check over the battery. Look for any signs of corrosion.

    3

Take a socket wrench and loosen the battery terminals. Disconnect the battery terminals from the battery and clean them with a wire brush and a can of soda.

    4

Reattach the terminals to the Luminas battery and then try to restart the car.

    5

Jump the car with a friends car and a pair of jumper cables. Leave the car running for five minutes to charge the battery.

    6

Shut the car off and then try to restart the car. If the car will not start, replace the battery.
