Front End Alignment Specifications on a 1995 Nissan Truck

Nissan introduced the first-ever compact pickup truck to the U.S. market in 1958, back when Nissans were still known as Datsuns. Nissan redesigned its pickup truck several times, giving it a complete makeover in 1986. While several trims of the vehicle were available, Nissan generally erred to its compact pickup simply as the Nissan Pickup until they discontinued production of it in 1997. The mid-sized Frontier replaced the Pickup in 1998, and Nissan introduced the full-size Titan pickup truck in 2004.

General Alignment Information

    The Nissan offered its 1995 Pickup in a variety of two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive trims, but all two-wheel-drive trims had the same alignment specs, as did all four-wheel-drive trims. The caster, camber, toe and steering axis inclination (SAI) are all adjustable on the front end of all trims of the 1995 Nissan pickup. The caster is the angle of a vehicles steering pivot, as it is viewed from the side of the vehicle. The camber is the angle that the wheel tilts when viewed from the front of the vehicle. If it tilts out at the top, the camber is positive. If it tilts in at the top, it is negative. The toe is the measurement of a wheels angle in relation to the center line of the vehicle. On most vehicles, the front wheels are intended to point slightly toward each other. The SAI is the measurement of the angle of the steering pivot when viewed from the front of the vehicle. All measurements are given in degrees.

Alignment Specs for the 1995 2WD Pickup

    The caster angle on the front end of the 1995 two-wheel-drive Nissan Pickup should fall between +0.37 degree and +0.5 degree, with a cross tolerance of +0.75 degree. The camber angle should fall between +0.42 degree and +0.50 degree, with a cross tolerance of +0.75 degree. The toe-in should be between +0.8 degree and +0.25 degree. The SAI can range from +0.5 degree to +9.1 degrees. The alignment was not adjustable on the rear end of two-wheel-drive trims of the 1995 Nissan Pickup because it came with a fixed rear axle.

Alignment Specs for the 1995 4WD Nissan Pickup

    The caster angle on the front end of the 1995 four-wheel-drive Nissan Pickup should fall between +0.50 degree and +1.3 degrees, with a cross tolerance of +0.75 degree. The camber angle should fall between +0.50 degree and +0.67 degree, with a cross tolerance of +0.75 degree. The toe-in should be between +0.8 degree and +0.32 degree. The SAI can range from +0.5 degree to +8.1 degrees. As with the two-wheel-drive trims, the four-wheel-drive trims of the 1995 Nissan Pickup truck came with a fixed rear axle and the alignment was not adjustable on the rear end.

How Do I Replace the Oxygen Sensor in a 1995 Voyager Van

The 1995 Plymouth Voyager van uses an oxygen sensor to monitor the levels of oxygen in the exhaust. The sensors reading tells the Voyagers engine computer how to modify the air/fuel mixture for maximum fuel efficiency and minimal pollution. A failing sensor will illuminate the "Check Engine" light on the Voyagers instrument panel; it will also cause the Voyager to idle poorly and to use more fuel than necessary. To avoid wasting money on extra fuel, replace the sensor when it goes bad. Its a job you can do yourself with just a little bit of patience and tool familiarity. Purchase replacement Voyager oxygen sensors from an auto parts store.

Instructions

    1

    Start the engine on your 1995 Voyager and let it idle until it reaches the normal operating temperature, the temperature your van typically runs at. Locate the oxygen sensor threaded into the exhaust manifold at the bottom of the engine compartment.

    Unplug the wiring harness connection on the sensor. Remove the sensor from the manifold with a wrench.

    Insert the new sensor by hand to prevent cross-threading. Torque the sensor to 20 pound-feet, using a torque wrench. Plug the electrical connection in until the connector clicks.

How to Take Off the Dash on a 1995 Subaru Legacy

The 1995 Subaru Legacy is the first year of the vehicles second generation, marked by a redesigned body style and chassis as well as the introduction of all-wheel drive as a standard offering on the sedan, wagon and Outback trims. The dash on the 95 Subaru Legacy is a one-piece unit that needs to be removed to work on the instrument panel, heater core or a variety of other parts. The most difficult part of dash removal is finding all of the mounting screws.

Instructions

    1

    Park the vehicle on a flat surface and set the parking brake. Open the hood and disconnect the negative battery cable.

    2

    Remove the shifter trim with a trim removal tool. A flathead screwdriver can be used, but the silver trim is easily scratched, so using the right tool can prevent damage. Remove the two screws underneath the trim with a Phillips screwdriver.

    3

    Grip the bottom of the shifter panel cover on both sides and pull out slightly to disengage the retaining tabs, then pull up on it to completely remove it.

    4

    Remove the temperature control knobs and vents by pulling them straight off by hand. Pry up the edges of the dash control panel with a flathead screwdriver to disengage the clips. Remove the dash control panel.

    Remove the kick panel trim on both sides with a trim removal tool. Remove the screws holding the kick panel in place with a Phillips screwdriver. Remove the kick panels.

    6

    Remove the trim between the windshield and dash with a trim removal tool.

    7

    Open the glove compartment. Push in on the glove box and lift to remove the glove box.

    Remove the screws holding the dash in place. There are two where each of the kick panels were located, four along the windshield, two inside the glove compartment cavity and three where the center control panel was removed.

    If the vehicle has a standard transmission, place the shift control arm in neutral. If it has an automatic transmission, place the shift control arm in the position that is farthest from the dash. Push the button underneath the steering wheel and lower the steering wheel as far as possible.

    Lift up caully on the dash, then pull it forward about one and a half feet. Unplug all of the electrical connections from the rear of the dash, including the instrument cluster and temperature controls. Depending on the vehicles features, there may be more.

    Slide the dash forward, lift it over the top edge of the steering wheel, then cant it slightly sideways to fit it through the passenger side door. Removing it from the driver side is cramped and could cause damage to the interior, so avoid going that way if possible.

How to Read Diagnostic Codes for a 1995 Chevy Lumina V6

You can read the diagnostic codes on your 95 Chevy Lumina V6 using an OBD I scan tool. This small computerized device is used to read the codes and reset the computer after repairs have been made. It can be purchased from most auto parts stores. Trouble codes are stored by the On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) computer to help you troubleshoot malfunctions within the vehicle. Some codes pertain to the servicing needs of the Chevy.

Instructions

    1

    Locate the fuse panel cover near the steering column and open it by pulling downwards on it with your fingers. Find the port inside and plug the OBD I scan tool into this port.

    Put the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position but dont start the engine. Turn on the scan tool.

    Wait for the scan tool to retrieve the codes. Write the codes it displays down on a piece of paper. Turn off the vehicle and unplug the scan tool.

How to Replace the Trunk Brake Light in a 1995 Honda Civic

Everyone knows that brake lights are extremely important features of a vehicle. Theyre there to keep ourselves and other drivers safe, and when brake lights burn out or get damaged, its imperative that we replace them as soon as possible. Replacing the trunk brake light on a 1995 Honda Civic wont take you long, and all you will need for the job is a screwdriver and a new bulb.

Instructions

    1

    Open the trunk. Disconnect the electrical wires from the hold-down clip by sliding them out toward the center of the vehicle.

    2

    Detach the two screws from the bulb holder using a Phillips screwdriver. Remove the bulb holder from the brake light assembly.

    3

    Verify which bulb needs to be replaced by having someone press the brake pedal while you look at the lights.

    4

    Push the bulb gently into the housing and turn it counterclockwise until it comes loose.

    5

    Insert the new bulb into the socket by pressing it in slightly and turning it clockwise until it locks into place. Test the new bulb before moving to the next step.

    Reinstall the bulb holder assembly and reattach it with the two screws. Tighten the screws using a Phillips screwdriver. Place the wires back in their original location in the hold-down clip. Close the trunk.

You can read the diagnostic codes for your 95 Chevy Lumina V.6 right from home using an OBD scan tool. This tool can be purchased from any auto parts retailer for the purpose of retrieving diagnostic codes and resetting them. These codes help you troubleshoot problems within your Lumina. The on-board diagnostics computer (OBD) receives diagnostic trouble codes sent to it from various sensors positioned throughout the vehicle. How to Install an Oil Pump in a 1995 Dodge Ram

The Dodge Ram is a series of full-size pickup trucks manufactured by the Dodge division of the Chrysler Group since 1981. The 1995 model belongs to the second generation of Dodge Rams, which includes the 1994 through 2001 models. The most common engine in the 1995 Dodge Ram is an eight-cylinder 5.2-liter. The oil pump for this vehicle attaches to the rear main bearing cap and is accessible from underneath the vehicle.

Instructions

    1

    Allow the vehicle to sit overnight to ensure that the oil is cold. Place a drain pan under the oil drain and remove the drain plug with a socket wrench. Allow the oil to drain into the drain pan then replace the drain plug.

    2

    Disconnect the mounting bolts for the oil pan with a socket wrench and remove the oil pan. Loosen the bolts for the oil pump cover and disconnect the oil pump cover. Remove the mounting bolts for the oil pump and detach the oil pump from the rear bearing cap.

    Fill the rotor cavity of the new oil pump with engine oil to prime the pump. Hold the new oil pump in position on the rear bearing cap. Tighten the mounting bolts to 95 inch-pounds with a torque wrench.

    Replace the oil pump cover and tighten the cover bolts to 30 foot-pounds with the torque wrench. Reinstall the oil pan with the socket wrench.

    5

    Fill the engine with oil and start the vehicle. Check for any oil leaks.

How to Install a Water Pump on a 1995 Mitsubishi Mirage

The Mitsubishi Mirage is a subcompact car that was in production until from 1978 to 2002. The 1995 model is a fourth generation Mirage, which includes 1991 to 1996 models. This vehicle was available with a 1.5-liter engine or a 1.8-liter engine, and the water pump replacement procedure is the same for both engines. The water pump in a 1995 Mitsubishi Mirage is located on the front of the engine above the cooling fan.

Instructions

    1

    Remove the negative battery terminal with a socket wrench to ensure you dont start the engine unintentionally. Place a container under the drain for the radiator and remove the radiator drain cock. Drain the coolant into the container and replace the drain cock. Seal the container of coolant and store it for later use.

    2

    Disconnect the engine undercover and the bolt for the power steering hose with a socket wrench. Detach the engine drive belts. Support the engine with a floor jack and a wood plank to serve as a cushion for the engine.

    3

    Disconnect the engine mount bracket and the timing belt with a socket wrench. Remove the power steering pump bracket and the alternator brace.

    4

    Disconnect the mounting bolts for the water pump and record their position, since they have different lengths. Remove the water pump and its gasket.

    5

    Clean the mounting surfaces on the water pump and engine block with a shop towel. Lubricate the new O-ring with water and place it into its mounting groove on the water inlet pipe. Install the new water pump and torque the mounting bolts to 17 ft. lbs with a torque wrench.

    Connect the additional components you removed earlier by reversing steps 2 and 3. Refill the cooling system and connect the battery with a socket wrench. Run the engine until the radiator fills completely. Check the coolant level and top it off to the correct level.

How to Change the Belts on a 1995 Nissan Pickup

The hard body Nissan pickups were built between 1986 and 1997. The 1995 Nissan Pickup comes equipped with two separate belts that operate all of the engine accessories. The first belt is a serpentine belt and the second belt is a v-belt. These belts operate the alternator, power steering pump, air conditioner compressor and the cooling fan at the same time. Over time the serpentine belt and the v-belt will fray and crack. Change the belt as soon as the fraying or cracking is evident to prevent the belts from breaking.

Instructions

Replacing the Serpentine Belt

    1

    Open the hood and make note of the serpentine belt routing diagram. This diagram holds the instructions for how the serpentine belt is routed around each pulley. Use this diagram to properly route the new belt around the pulleys.

    2

    locate the serpentine belt on the front of the engine. The serpentine belt is a single belt with ribs on the inside of the belt that travel inside of the pulleys. The serpentine belt is tightened by a spring loaded tensioner on the front left hand side of the engine. Use the bolt head that secures the pulley to the bottom of the tensioner to relieve the tension from the belt.

    3

    Position a metric socket and a breaker bar onto the tensioner pulley bolt. Turn the breaker bar counter-clockwise to release the tension from the belt. Slide the belt off of the tensioner pulley and release the breaker bar.

    4

    Pull the serpentine belt out of the other accessory pulleys and out of the engine bay. Route the new serpentine belt around the same pulleys as described by the belt routing diagram. Put the breaker bar and socket back onto the tensioner pulley bolt. Rotate the breaker bar counter-clockwise and slide the new belt around the tensioner pulley. Release the breaker bar and remove it from the engine bay.

Replacing the V-Belt

    5

    Locate the v-belt that is routed around the remaining accessory pulleys. The v-belt is tightened by an adjustment bracket on top of the alternator. Loosen the bolt in the middle of the adjustment bracket with a ratchet and a metric socket.

    Loosen the top alternator mounting bolt with the ratchet and socket.

    7

    Turn the adjustment bolt at the end of the adjustment bracket counter-clockwise until the belt is loose. Pull the belt out of the accessory pulleys and out of the engine bay.

    8

    Route the new v-belt around the accessory pulleys. Tighten the belt by turning the adjustment bolt clockwise with the ratchet and socket. Check the tension of the belt by pushing inward on the belt with your hand. The belt should have no more than a half-inch of slack. Adjust the belt as needed to get a half-inch of tension in the belt. Tighten the bolt in the middle of the adjustment bracket and the top alternator mounting bolt with the ratchet and socket.

    Crank the engine for fifteen to twenty seconds. Turn the engine off and inspect the belts. Make sure that the serpentine belt is properly inside of each pulley. Make sure that the v-belt is inside of each pulley and also recheck the tension of the v-belt with your hand. Close the hood.
